Nothing in the universe is static. Everything moves.
The human body is no exception.
Movement is key to all healing, regardless if you are working with an elite athlete or someone suffering from a car crash.
Functional Movement Techniques (FMT) Certification courses are led by industry leading experts in movement assessment and therapy.
The FMT Series certification courses are intended for healthcare professionals, therapists and trainers. Please refer to the FAQs for the prerequisites for each FMT certification and CEU allocation.
This course introduces the concept of movement therapy and enhancement via functional taping methods. It includes a review of the current literature supporting the theory of kinesiology taping for the purposes of rehabilitation, edema/swelling management, neuropathic pain, scar mobility and postural management.
FMT Basic is an evidence-informed kinesiology taping course that redefines our understanding of the effects of elastic therapeutic taping on pain mitigation, circulation and proprioception. Learn more about FMT Basic!
This course expands on the concepts of movement therapy and performance enhancement via functional taping methods that are taught in FMT Basic. The anatomy and physiology of myofascial slings is covered. Movement assessment to determine dysfunction in specific slings and how to apply tape in a manner that improves movement and function is done in a workshop, hands-on environment. Corrective exercise techniques to address joint mobility and stability dysfunctions along these myofascial pathways are presented. Learn more about FMT Performance!
FMT Blades IASTM Certification will review screening dysfunctional movement patterns and utilizing soft tissue tools to improve patient treatment with IASTM. The anatomy, physiology and MOST IMPORTANTLY the neurology of myofascial soft tissue work is covered, along with supporting research.
IASTM intervention strategies will also be combined with kinesiology taping and corrective exercise techniques to deliver a comprehensive approach to patient care. Learn more about FMT Blades!
FMT Special Populations
This course introduces the concept of movement therapy and enhancement via functional taping methods with populations who require special circumstances. The populations include geriatric, pediatric and pregnant patient populations.
The course includes a review of the current literature supporting the theory of kinesiology taping for the purposes of rehabilitation, edema/swelling management, neuropathic pain, scar and postural management for these populations. Future Rocktape courses.
FMT Equine addresses functional kinesiology taping methods to reduce or control pain, manage swelling or edema, increase joint range of motion, improve muscle function; and maintain a level of functionality and comfort for the horse throughout the rehabilitation process.
Taping applications to maintain functionality and comfort in training and assist with recovery will be explored as a means to facilitating overall soundness in the equine athlete. Future RockTape courses.
Although our FMT courses differ in scope and purpose, we base our training on four key principals.
